    Auto-Attendant can be used as a primary interface for incoming calls with backup provided by a live operator.

Inversely an Auto-Attendant can support a live operator in a rollover implementation when call volumes are high. Auto-Attendants are also often used for lunch and off-hour and after hour support and weekend support and they are very easy to use.
