Over the last decade, the Glasgow based group has built a sound reputation for handling complex business and planning transactions and for high quality developments.
Elphinstone Group initially approached Digital IP in 2003 to come up with a replacement for its ageing Windows NT Network. At the time Digital IP utilised Windows XP and Microsoft Server 2000 SMB. In 2005 after a couple of years of rapid growth, Elphinstone group required to upgrade again to a highly available network solution.
Digital IP created a “never fail” solution which utilises two hot standby servers within Digital IP’s data centre.
The system works by having a mirror of the Elphinstone Servers within Digital IP, so in the event of a major IT disaster there is an automatic switch over and continuous availability for Elphinstone. Connectivity is provided by Thus and utilises 10 meg fibre optic cabling which supported upgrade of the telephone system to Seimens Hi-Path voice com server.
